A Jeep is legendary. Immediately recognizable and makes a statement about the driver. Parts galore in the aftermarket. Infinate ways to customize.

Hopefully this won't be like any number of companies who have tried to build a better V twin cruiser than Harley Davidson. The Harley loyalists turn their noses up at it and the aftermarket turn their backs to it.

Ford will have to work hard with the aftermarket to have products available upon release of the Bronco. It may have to sell at a loss untill it gains sales traction.
I don't see price as being any less than 30k for a stripper. A doggone ESCAPE costs well up in the 20's with 4WD and loaded Escapes are $39,000!!! I believe the Bronco will slot in slightly above the Edge, which is around 30k as a starting point and moves up to almost 50k for a loaded Sport or Titanium.

Which original body lines? The '66 or the '78? One problem is that the '66 has an incredibly short wheelbase and that is part of the look. Even the '78 has a really short wheelbase (104"). I have a "thing" for short bed stepside/flareside pickups. When you extend them beyond a regular cab and a short bed, they look stupid....

We shall see,
George

I see it being FJ Cruiser/Xterra size, which is about 7/8 of a full size Bronco. Many people lament the loss of those two vehicles. Their used prices for 4x4 models reflect that. The new trend in 4x4s is the overland lifestyle. Roof top tents, loaded with outdoor and camping gear etc, to take a trip for a day or a year.

I don't think a Bronco has to slot into the Ford CUV lineup at at. It will stand alone, as a 4Runner does against a Highlander.

Save luxury trim lines for the CUVs. No need for a Limited or King Ranch Bronco. But I bet Ford will offer them anyway.
