Online Shopping Source

With zero luck trying to find used 67-73 parts locally, I would appreciate any pointers with locating a source online for the following: (All can be in used condition)

-Saginaw power steering pump w/brackets and pulley
-A three groove Harmonic Balancer

Would prefer new:
-A aftermarket tilt column with the correct rag assembly for a Saginaw power
steering gearbox
-A wood grain 15in steering wheel to match new tilt column

This may seem as if I am lazy but I have literally been scouring the web for two weeks with nothing but headaches. I have a 69 F100 with a 390 2wd

Saginaw power steering pump w/brackets and pulley.
EZ to find here in CA junkyards, I would assume it's EZ to find in TX junkyards.

-A three groove Harmonic Balancer
No such thing.

No such thing.

steering gearbox.
Not available new.

-A wood grain 15in steering wheel to match new tilt column.
No such thing.

You do not need to replace your harmonic balancer unless it's defective (1968/71 Galaxie/LTD 390 & 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 is same), because:

The harmonic balancer contains a single sheave (groove) pulley.

Ford offered accessory single, double and triple sheave outer pulleys that bolt to the balancer to add P/S and/or A/C and/or smog pump and/or a dual belt alternator.

No steering column comes with a rag joint (steering coupler). It was only available by itself. There are several different types for 1967/79's, depending on the years/applications.

The horn pad for 1971/79 XLT & 1978/79 Lariat has a walnut wood grain finish. The steering wheel itself is black.

1971/77 steering wheel/horn pad is the same (also same as 1974/77 Bronco & 1975/77 Econoline), 1978/79 F100/350/Bronco/Econoline steering wheel/horn pad is different.

If you cannot find used truck parts in TX .. you aren't doing very much searching.

More Ford trucks were sold new in TX than anywhere else. CA was second.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bendix P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD; 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number D96,001.

Ford/Saginaw P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number D96,001; 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350.

Ford/Thompson P/S steering pump has a steel reservoir, P/S pressure hose threads onto the pump. Pump is the same: 1967/77: F100/350 & misc. Passenger Cars; 1973/77 Bronco.

1978: Ford introduced the new C-II P/S pump, has a plastic reservoir. The P/S pressure hose attaches to the pump w/a qwik connect fitting.

50 miles isn't very far when you consider that TX is the 2nd largest state in the US .. Sometimes you have to "beat the bushes" further away.

Look on craigslist for a beater 1969 F250 360/390 (with Saginaw P/S), or a 1970/76 F250 360/390. Buy it, take the parts off you want, then sell the remains to get your money back, you might even make a profit.

If your '69 F250 doesn't have optional dual piston caliper front disc brakes, you can swap them in. Optional 1968/72, standard equipment beginning in 1973.

If you think used parts are expensive, just wait until you price new parts.

Does your '69 have Bendix P/S or are you swapping in Saginaw P/S? Proper tire inflation, replacing all the worn steering/suspension parts, the truck will be much easier to steer.

Tilt wheel introduced in 1978 F100/350, Bronco & Econoline. But some people that have these trucks, may not be aware it has a tilt wheel.

1978/91: The tilt wheel is operated by pressing the T/S handle forward.

My computer has a glitch, shuts off after 3 hours, so I just got back on and edited in more info into post #2.

PC there is a guy in Ennis, ford heaven his name is Matt. He may be able to hook you up with some of the things you're in search of. Are you in burleson? I forget.

Check the pick n pull off of 2nd ave. any lower pulley will work if you can find an FE.
There's a yard Hendersons off 175, I haven't been to in years. He used to have old stuff. There's a yard off hwy 6 in Nevada. He's pretty pricey, but if he has what you're looking for....
The after market wheel your going to have to use a suggested manufactures adapter that will add 2 (+/-) " at the cab end of the column.
There is a place call MR. column (I think) on 30 at dolphin.
I hope I helped.

My 69 has manual everything, this will be a pass down to my Daughter when I am done with it. Parts further than 50 miles would have to be shipped. I guess what I'm hinting at is there anything besides Google, eBay, and these Fourms I could use as search tools? Maybe a list of swap meets ?

Ididit for the tilt steering column. Then choose a steering wheel. The Mustang crowd has a plethora of options.

I've only attended one TX car/truck swap meet, but at one time (may still be today) this was the largest in TX

Pate Swap Meet located south of Dallas. This is either a two or three day (I cannot remember which) meet.

If you plan to go and stay overnight, make the motel reservations at least a week beforehand. Otherwise, you may have to drive as much as 50 miles R/T to find a motel, as I did.

1985: I drove straight thru from Santa Monica CA to Dallas, stopping at 3 TX Ford dealers looking for NOS obsolete parts.

Bought a bunch of them from 2 of the dealers, the 3rd dealer was loaded with obsolete parts, but wouldn't sell anything.

If you whiz around north central TX you may find the 3rd dealer (located in a small rural town that's famous for a HUGE cattle ranch that once was located there).

This Ford dealer closed in the early 1970's, but ALL the parts are still there!

Thanks Chris, I am in Keller, I will call the Ford Heaven in Ennis ! The Dallas pick and pulls are "picked clean" nothing at all. If had had enough room I'd by a parts truck, just don't think the HOA would approve of a bucket of bolts on cinder blocks out front LOL

I missed the Pate swap meet by two months ! Next one is Apr 2018. All them spare parts are worth a small fortune to the right tinkerer

Well Chris you win the gold star today ! The Ford Heaven in Ennis is no longer, it is now the franchised property of USA recyclers. No more Matt, I did speak with Randy who put me in touch with a local Fort Worth body shop that had six FE's stashed away behind his shop. Low and behold two gearboxes and three pumps with brackets. Making a beeline there this coming Sat morning !

Make sure the FE trucks have Saginaw P/S, because 1969 F100/250's could have Bendix or Saginaw.

And you want 2WD, because 1973/76 F100/250 FE 4WD's were only available with Power Assist P/S

P/S was not available with 4WD until 1973.

Yep, that's why I am visiting the shop in person. He doesn't know how to tell the difference.

We all hope that you can tell the difference, otherwise...

1967/70's have a 3 spoke steering wheel using either a horn button or horn ring.

1971/77's have a 2 spoke steering wheel using a horn pad (bar).

No FE engines after 1976.

1978/79 F100/350's have a HUGE 'fish mouth' grille. P/S pump, steering wheel, steering gear box, horn pad are different than 1971/77.
