Hey guys so I have been trying to figure this out. i got a 1978 f150 with a 302 in there and the aftermarket gauges worked then. When I swapped it out the oil pressure and water temp gauges didn't work. I put the original water temp back on but the oil pressure wouldn't work so I put the mechanical aftermarket back on in the back of the engine. This didn't work. No oil is coming thru the tube but when I take the tube off then oil comes out of the bushing.
Can anyone help me out? Why does the oil not gonthru my copper tubing
very possible you over-tightened, bent or crimped the copper tube. the ferrule that clamps down on it has no stop, and you can squeeze it down to nothing.
I would see about getting an electric gauge, which has a sender that screws into the oil gallery and then sends a signal via a wire to the gauge - much simpler and more reliable.

thanks guys! I will check it tonight! Wonder if I can just fix the copper one... just bought the mechanical gauge. Rather not buy another one. But electrical does seem more reliable.

You can probably pull the line, cut the end off, and put it back together. Or, O'Reilly sells the copper line kit with connectors and adapters.
