Interesting ESP pricing data

My truck should be arriving next week so I was going through the Flood Ford pricing on the Premium ESP plans. For 8yr/i60000 mile coverage the price is 1255 but if you go to the 75000 plan the price is 1850, a $600 increase for 15000 miles. Most other mileage increases are in the $300 range, must be they know something we don't about the 60-75K mileage range of failures.

Is it possible to increase your coverage later as long as you do it before the first one runs out, or are you stuck with the first one?

You can extend the extended warranty but the terms are different. On the last day of my ESP on my Explorer (was a 6 year), I could only do up to 3 more years and 36k (options were in 1yr/12k increments). Also, I couldn't do the Premium one, had to do the 2nd from lowest.

The reason the price jumps from 60k to 75k is because your trans isn't covered after 60k under the factory powertrain warranty.

I would think it's more because by default you get 5 year 60k... so 8 year 60k really adds 0 miles, but 3 years... then from there forward you're adding years and miles to the factory built in cost.

Thanks for the responses, I figured it was due to the 5/60 powertrain expiration, but it is interesting that going from 75K to 100K only increases the premium by $220. It seems like they either expect most of the failures by 75K or they assume that most of the trucks won't get past 75K before their sold or scrapped.

Does anyone know where I could get a ford ESP financed. I have heard of a couple people that knew someone at a dealership that moves the warranties alot that could finance. I am trying to get 8 year 125K warranty but don't want to drop 3k all at once. Looking for an alternative to just putting it on a CC.

PM me, my contact (referred literally hundreds
of members to him) will do $100 over cost and waive the fee for 24 months at 0% interest. 10% down required per Ford.

I still have the PM you sent me with his info... I suppose that I could contact him and get a price, as I have the VIN, just no truck yet... hopefully by the end of the month!
