2 to use if your running straight dino. Chevron 15w40 or Moblie devlac 15w40 and there is always Rotella. I found the best place to get it is Wally World.
International hasn't released a new spec for their old engines that I've seen. Ford can take their new spec and use it to pound sand down a rat hole, they didn't design the engine in my truck and I don't care about valve guide wear on the 6.7 that's not in my driveway.
I use the same Schaeffer's 5W40 oil I ran before, and I'd run T6 again or Delo 400LE without thinking about it.
FWIW Rotella T3 and T5 are on the list of Ford approved CK-4 oils. So is Autozone's private label 15W-40... if that stuff made the cut, about the only thing cheaper would be Supertec at the Wal Mart. Use whatever you used to.

On my second change of Schaeffers of the same weight, and really like it.
I know a lot of people run Delo but I didn't see that on the list. I've been running the Mobil delvac 15w-40 religiously @ 5,000 interval changes. Both are available at Walmart, I saw Mobil heavy duty Diesel engine oil on fords list so I guess that includes the delvac conventional, because I know they have many Diesel engine oils. I don't run rotella because I grenaded two trannies racing dirt bikes while running Rotella.. may or may not have been the oil I know a lot of guys swear by it but just not my cup of tea anymore I guess.
What do you guys think of the schaeffers? I have no doubt it's the best stuff on the market, I would just need to be convinced to drop the extra coin on it.. what interval are you guys changing at? Any other benefits?
i do get SOME smoke/slightly imperfect idle on cold starts but being in Florida it's not really a big deal.. never gets too cold, and not worth it for me to change out all 8 injectors. I just let my truck warm up for 10 mins before I go to work.
Started with motorcraft 15w40, then switched to rotella t6 5w50 this past change. I have had no complaints with it as of yet (2k miles into it) and also havent had a problem running the 5w in Florida. Stocked on the shelf at my local wally world right next to the fl-2016 filter, so its a quick and easy grab-n-go!

You might have stiction, ever run something for it?
You shouldn't need a 10 minute warm up living down there. Not trying to tell you how to warm up your ride just save a few bucks on fuel and injector wear. They don't like a lot of idle time.

I think I definitely have a little bit of stiction. Think I'm going to try some Archoil on my next oil change but it's not bad at all. I don't NEED a 10 minute warmup but it's nice to get in the truck and it be warm. I baby it when it's cold. I can drive it perfectly fine when it's cold but just prefer to have it warmed up before I drive it.
put the block heater on and set a timer for about an hour before you leave. You'll burn up 10-15 cents of electricity and be above ambient from the get go.
I usually run delo400le 5w40 but my stash is gone. Tried Rotella once and it hated it after about 2500 miles. Think I'm gonna try the schaeffers next change in 15w40 cuz I can get it much cheaper locally than their 5w40.
So I went to Wally World and almost all of the CJ4 is gone, not enough on the shelf for a 6.0 oil change. I ended up buying Delvac 15W-40 for about $11 a gallon. This oil change should take me to December or January, we don't get to 15 degrees in NC very often so I decided to give it a try. Hopefully the since Delvac is on the list the oil will be Ok for the 6.0.
I went with DELO 400LE 5w40 this time around. I just bought what was on the shelf, CJ4, CK4, idk. I am not worried about it. I have bigger things to be concerned with in life.
as I understand it, stiction is a direct result of using natural oil. Once the varnish is there in the injectors, and you begin experiencing stiction, it's going to be that way until you clean the spool valves or replace the injectors. Now if you've done one of those things and have nice clean spool valves, I can't imagine anybody choosing to cause the problem over again by continuing to use natural oil.
It may not be the disaster that Ford Gold Coolant is, but it just doesn't make sense to me that after all these people have put in all this research, that we would not learn from their mistakes.
