Vent Window Motor
Vent Window Motor
Hello
My driver's side rear vent window hasn't worked since we bought the truck a year and a half ago. There's no noise from the motor when the button is pressed, and we've confirmed that the gasket is not stuck to the glass. The passenger side one works fine. Is there anything I can try before replacing the motor?

Get to the motor and check for voltage. If there isn't any then trace the wires back to the switch and test there. If there is power then that means the motor is toast and GOOD NEWS, you already have the motor uncovered! Half done before you even started
I figure that the motors are like the DVD player units or the overhead trip computer and were not meant to take long exposures to high heat. Your Excursion sounds like mine, only one side works.
Rock Auto used to sell the motors, not sure if they still do any more.

Get someone to help you and hold the button while you bang on window by the motor. Mine stopped working for a while and that worked. Every now and then it will stay closed and we hit it a little and back to life it comes.
