That's about the most unique drivetrain transplant I have ever seen. Fantastic stuff.

I looked at mine again as I walked past it. Same as I do every day, I made more mental plans.
After I finish fixing the Crown Vic, The wife's PT Cruiser, the '95 F-150, and I haul all the scrap and leftovers to the recyclers, I'll get back to the Mustang rear fuel tank, and T-Bird IRS install.

First thing I did was look into why my oil pressure gauge registered 80+ psi at idle. Swapped in a different gauge and that fixed it. The pressure is down around 50 psi now. While I had the dash apart, I cleaned behind all the gauges and tidied up more wiring. Then I wired up a tach, which just reminded me how short my gears are! Also adjusted my door striker so now both doors are perfect.

Finished up painting a few things under the hood, adjusted the choke and throttle linkages and slid it around a gravel lot.

Replaced my rusted out hood for a rust free unit, repaired my hood latch, and adjusted the hood so it fits and closes perfectly.

Did this, been working on it for a while, I had wood and got tired of replacing it.
When I bought the truck, it had steel diamond plate welded in, including the carriage bolts. Until some time I redo the truck, this what I'm doing. I made a skeleton frame of 3/4 x 3/4 alum square tube and covered it in 1/8 aluminum, and fabricated #8 mirror SS trim and anchored it with 10-24 flat heads. I'm happy with it.

Replaced the muffler with a glasspack, sounds much better, tuned carb, two new tires, freed up the passenger side window regulator, ripped the mirror off accidentally and reattached with stainless hardware, took it off roading, then took my lady out in it.

On a search for a Distributor for a I-6 262 ci

From what I am told it is for a 61 to 64 262 ci, the machine work is complete but the engine did not come with a distributor

It looks kike these were in limited supply when they were built as not many rebuilts around, or maybe zero !!

Thinking and thinking of....
Got up this morning thinking of what I am going to do with my 460. After just getting it to where I wanted it detail wise, a loud ticking noise appeared. Not a valve, push rod or lifter. Pulled the water pump and timing cover off and the crank moves up and down. Thinking all the way to work on pulling 460, maybe machine it OR purchase a CV and replace motor, trans and front end..........Thinking of how I am going to discuss this with the boss (wife). Thinking of all the time it will take before I can drive my truck if the motor is SHOT! Thinking of NOT thinking any more.
