Hello
Hi from Wiltshire UK..New to the truck scene just bought a 49 F1 Also have a wannabe 34 roadster..The F1 was restored over in florida about 4-5 yrs ago and then shipped to UK about 2yrs ago.. Has a 350 motor and i think TH400 transmission. It has a few small issues that I am sorting before doing a 2500mile road trip across england France Switzerland Italy & back to UK in July.No doubt will have some simple questions for you guys that know these trucks like 2nd nature..

Sounds like you are quite adventurous. And doing 2,500 miles with a 5.7 liter engine means you will spur economic growth in every country you visit.
Isn't the price about $7 (US) per gallon?
And to echo the reply above, we'd love to see pictures along the journey.

Beautiful F1, you have there. Your trip sounds like an adventure of a life time. Be prepared to do a lot of waving to all the folks admiring your truck as you drive by. As for any questions you may have about the issues you mentioned, your in the right place. Welcome, and enjoy your trip.

Yes pineconeford our fuel price is just under $7 a gallon. Makes you appreciate every single mile...
And there will be plenty of pics when we get back..You will all be bored of them..Just hoping the recovery service is not required.:-)

Welcome - I look forward to the pics and stories! I visited France/Switzerland/Italy last summer for the first time and was even able to drive around some in a rented fiat...can't imagine how awesome it would be in an F1!

One of the most popular and long-running threads on this forum is the 'Through the Windshield' thread in which members take random pictures and videos through the truck glass in various scenic and non-scenic places. We see the world of our members through these shots.
And yours will be most welcome because it will be different countries many of us haven't been to before. That thread is a great place for your trip to be shared with us.
Oh, and if you want insurance against breakdowns.....install a simple and classic-looking tow hook to the lower frame on the front and rear of your truck. If you have them, you won't need them. Like this one...

Thanks for that Pineconeford, I will have a look over here for something. It is hard to find things over here and not get ripped off. And we get raped by the inland revenue for importing stuff. But sure i will find some one over here who is decent and can supply parts.
