I need some direction

"K" guys I need some help. I have purchased a 95 F 250 XLT Super Cab. It has less than100,000 miles on it and very little rust. ( In Wisconsin That is a Rarity ) Unlike most of my previous older vehicles which I drive into the ground and move onto the next one. This truck I was thinking about putting some time and money into. My wonderful wife says it's my midlife crisis. Anyway I have trouble finding decent website for part information (specs) and general how to. I'm not looking into making a rock crawler or mud booger, just a good old fashioned 4 by 4 for weekend trips. Any constructive site ideas?

Try harder, everything you can imagine is on the WWW. (Rock Auto, LCM Truck)

Then if you have some specific questions, come back and someone will help you, providing you answer their questions....

Photos are always helpful. What engine do you have ?

Local Dealership is sometimes willing to give you Parts Info/Drawings for your research, if they are not busy.

Depends what the truck needs and what your goals are. Sometimes just keeping them in good shape is enough work and all that's needed to keep an owner happy.

This thread is a bolt by bolt rebuild, very well done, and might give you some ideas: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1191920-here-goes-my-build-thread-97-f350-frameswap.html

I'm a noob here to tell you that your question is pretty vague.

what needs to be done to the truck?

Ask specific questions and provide pictures if possible, some guys on here will come with great, informative answers.

I'm in the middle of ripping out the engine and tranny from my 87 f250 2wd.

I have picked up books from Chilton, Haynes, some other third party book on the Windsor 302, and two Ford service manuals for the truck.

good luck... with whatever you want to do.

I started by changing plugs, all fluids and checking all suspension components and vac lines. Fix all leaks and all that should keep you busy for a while. Come back when/if you have any issues Good luck Sandy
