MOR RYDE PIN BOX

Anyone on here run with the MorRyde pin box? How do you like it? Any problems? Thinking about replacing my solid Lippert 1116 with one.

Don't know about the pin box, but I do like the Mor Ryde suspension system.

I run this pin-box on my Cardinal, came from factory with it on. It does a good job cushioning the front-back motion. The only comment I will make, as it seems like you have said you run the Anderson hitch, is that the king pin plate seems "thin" compared to standard pin boxes. I run a Demco slider hitch, so I also have a capture plate which doubles the thickness, but my only concern would be weight distribution with your King pin adapter for the Anderson.

Maybe its a non-issue, just something I notice.

I swapped my solid pin box for the MorRyde and love it! It really dampens the jolts nicely. I have also gone to the Andersen Ultimate and love that as well.

Got a good look at that pinbox I bought yesterday.... geez, looks brand new after I got the dust off it! He pulled it off the trade-in RV he had and his new one already one on it. Said he only used it two seasons. Now to get out there and try to loosen all the bolts on the Fox! Then wait for my son to give me a hand swapping them out.

MorRyde installed my pinbox at their place in Elkhardt, but prior to that, I had to move my previous pinbox up a few holes to lower the nose. I backed the truck up with the tailgate down, used pieces of wood to support the pinbox, unbolted it, then had the wife lower the nose via the landing gear until we were lined up with the top holes and reinstalled the bolts.

Our Montana came with the MorRyde on it. It is much better than a standard pin box, but when we were having trouble with the nose, we bought a TrailAir pin box and absolutely love it. It dampens the jarring from the up and down motion quite a bit. I did not buy the TrailAir Flex as many have said it will induce chucking on some rigs.

What I ended up doing was t5o remove all the bolts except the rear bottom two & just loosened them. I pulled the truck with tailgate down back to it and lowered the whole box from the front (it was still wedged in normal position) then lowered the RV via the landing gear until the nose down box touched the tailgate. Lowered a little more to release the final two bolts and just let it settle into the truck bed. Piece of cake. To install the new one I just reversed the process. I did have grandson steady the new one so I could line up the rear bottom bolt holes. Gravity is a wonderful thing.

Good job! You will find that it cushions starts and stops very well. The torque on them is 100 ft. lbs. is what I've been told and it what is on mine.

I would contact MorRyde about the torque. It seems like the torque on my Sidewinder was about 225, but it only had 4 bolts mounting to the RV. The MorRyde has 6 if I remember correctly, but 100 is less than the wheels on my truck (150).

One problem I had when replacing the Andersen Ultimate adapter to the MorRyde pin shaft was that the MorRyde shaft was .03 " larger in diameter than the one on my Lippert pin box. The adapter just wouldn't fit up on the pin shaft.

Solved that problem by using my Moto - Tool with a stone wheel attached to grind the aluminum down to make it fit. Glad that block was made of aluminum!! If it had been steel I don't know what I would have done.....
