Axle swaps

I have a donor truck with LS rears in it. Mine is E99 F-250, donor is '01 F-350, both have 3.73 gearing and I want the LS rears. Would it be easier to swap the whole rear(s) in, or just do the carrier(s)? Or one of each?

Are the bearings and brakes on the LS rear in good shape?
personally i would swap entire rear , ( i don't like checking backlash on gears).

I don't know on the bearing and brakes but it's not hard to check, thanks, this is what I was thinking as well. Particularly on the back end where it seems easy to R&R the whole thing. Additionally, then the front would be swapped over to later year hubs and rotors, which are cheaper down the road.
