I'm getting a miss or something like it when my engine is under a load. I thought it was torque convertor shudder at first but it is shuddering at idle only when it's in gear. I had a bad coolant sensor but I replaced it and the problem is continuing. I also have a new distributor, cap and rotor. I've checked my wires and they're good. Any ideas on what this could be?
I used the tester you plug into each of the wires and check to see if there's any spark. They all showed current getting to each spark plug. The question of course is how much potential is at each plug, eh?
once a pona time i had a mustand 302, i had just tuned it up. it ran silk smooth at idle, the minute you put it in gear and went to excelerate, it would quiver and shudder like it was gona fall apart, well after a week of pulling my hair out and almost going suicidal, i got a buddy to put it on a computer with a oscilascope, and turned out i had a bad set of plug wires, i cant say it your problem but over the years i've seen plug wire cause some weird problems especialy on new stuff with these high energy ignitions. I am definitely trying that next. I've taken all of the spark plugs out and they look just right. The set of wires I have I put on 20K miles ago and they cost $90. I'm assumed they should last at least this long, but I guess the Texas heat can get to them. Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know what happens next.
Alright, I'm excited. The spark plug wires did the trick. I had a couple that had some cracks in the jacket. Couldn't see them until I took them out completely. It runs great now. Thanks for the help!
