funky idle

i have a 94 f150 302 4x4 auto when I start it up the idle goes up and down until I give it some rpm any help.

Have you done any engine mods that may have contributed to this prob? I only ask because mine did the same thing until I got a chip. The comp was very upset with the changes I made.

Have you cleaned your Idle Air Control valve yet? If not, give it a try. It could be al carboned up.
