What is the rms rating of the radio? If you dont want an amp you will need a powerful radio. Alpine makes awsome radios if you want to switch your radio choice. The speakers will have to be efficient to sound good with just the radio. Polk ex series or infinity referance series are good choices. Alipnes are not bad either. Some have an rms rating of 35wrms and sound real nice with just the radio. What size speakers are you looking to get?

The panosonic is 25x4 rms,I looked into the alpine but the panosonic is stronger.I'm going 6.5 in the doors and 6x8 in the rear.

I had a kicker 25.4 midrange amp with alpine 3ways all the way around in my dodge and it sounded great. But I think if I was going to do it all over I would get a quality head unit and go Infinity 2ways all the way around. The 3ways are crisp but the infinity's are just so d@m smooth.

Memphis studio's are nice, I agree. I dont recommend the Polk EX's because they really dont have ANY low frequency extension. The new JL TR's are getting RAVE reviews however, and they dont need much power to get going. Same with Rainbow dream line speakers. I believe my GF payed about $125 for the comp set. They are the best speakers in that price range I have ever heard-period.
