This is a favor for a friend of a friend, literally.
The owner says this Ranger was bought new with the equipment installed. It lives now, and I believe was purchased, in Central NJ. The REAL object is to get the correct gas tank. I feel that a 108" wheelbase, 4X4 tank is correct. Am I right ?
In addition, there are no ID labels other than the Ranger label and VIN tag and we would like to know if this is a "High Country, or High Rider" model, or if the paint job (or decals) make it another separate model. Thank you for any help and\or guidance, Antiqueynot
There are lots of aftermarket companies that do Deco Kits. Looking at the "cutout" around the Ranger decal, it looks like it was made to put on after the decals. From the looking at the decal kits offered by Ford from the factory, the decals are added before the badges. Also, I dont think Ford offered diamond plated add ons, maybe I am wrong.
It looks to me like you have a standard '88 flareside.
Yes, you are correct. A 108" WB fuel tank would be what you are looking for, but it might be hard to find. For some reason, the replacement tanks for 108" WB say except 4WD. Could be the production volume for that model was so low that no repop company makes them.
Jklnhyd and ranger pat,
Thank you for your replies. Jkl, yes it does look like decals before side emblem. Ranger, I will make sure that the tank is 108" AND 4X4. Thanks again, Antiqueynot
