pitman arm info

hi guys,

just finished to reinstall the pitman arm on my new steering gear shaft.

torqued the nut to 228 ft-lb but it still sitting lower than it was before.

installed it by hand first, than used a wrench to push it up while the gear box was in the wise than finished it from under the truck.

is it ok if it doesn't go all the way up or should i push it with the big braker bar?

thanks

It doesnt need to go all the way up. I always run it on tight with an impact and recheck it in a couple weeks. I've had some loosen up.

As long as splines are fully engaged it's fine. It's never had two sit in exactly the same spot. Manufacturing tolerances are wide enough to notice change in fitment on these.
