Post FRUSTRATING....

I drive for a Tow company and a couple days ago the CEL came on in my truck 2011 F550 Diesel. A few codes came up and we quickly set an appointment with a nearby Diesel shop to have the repairs done. Codes are as follows.

P0471
P2455
P20B9
P2452
P20BA
P209F

So after a few hours the shop calls and says they found the problem and they needed to replace 2 EGT sensors and the Reductant tank heater assembly, and a manual Regen cycle, so we give them the go ahead and to do an oil change and air filter while they are at it. Next day truck is done I drive it back to the yard and run it the entire night with no problems. Come the next morning after doing paperwork and it sitting for an hour or so I jump in start it up and there is that pesky CEL again, grab my scan tool.... All the same codes are back again. Call them and they say bring it back, so we do... While dropping it off the front desk clerk asks what repairs were done so I tell him, he seemed confused about the Reductant heater and states " we didnt replace that part yet, if the light came back on it would need to be replaced. I said " You guys charged us for the part and the labor what do you mean it didnt get done?" To which his response was " YEa its still sitting on my tech's tool box" So we argued a bit and they agreed at no charge they would perform the repair that was supposed to already be done. Go in today to pick it up, half way back to the yard CEL comes back on...

Now the main question, Would replacing those parts solve the problem at hand based on the codes? Do they go hand in hand with the DPF? Bad DPF? mind you we have already spent $1500.00 and still have the same codes. Im somewhat mechanically inclined so what should my main course of action be to get this thing fixed? is it something they did or didn't do in conjunction with the repairs already performed?

Can't answer your question, but if you're using a mechanic that lies to you and screws you like that, I certsinly would go to a different mechanic first.

What if you hadn't gone back to them? You would have never known about the part you paid for but wasn't installed. Maybe they didn't do anything else either.

its hard to get to root cause on these ford trucks....meaning....if the egt sensors get torched your going to get the codes ......so you replace the egts...but since you didnt get to the root cause...the engine torches the egts again.

thank you for putting that into perspective for me, now what are my options at this point that's not going to cost the company an arm and a leg? Do I let them look at the truck again? Should I take it to the dealer?
