Differential Gear Swap
During this summer I swap out my tired old 302 for a 306 I built with a health cam and heads. I am also installed headers and a nice cat back system, reworked the EFI manifold and went from a 5 speed Mazda to a C6 transmission.
With that swap I am still running the 3.55 gears and I am getting killed with 12 MPG everywhere. I have a set of 3.08's for the rear I can swap in and I am looking for a set for the front but not sure what is involved in swapping out a new set of Ring and Pinion gears for the front diff. I have done rear ends before but never a front diff.
I also have a posi unit from a mustang's 8.8 diff, Will that fit in my rear diff? Axle spines the same? Etc? Might as well do it all at once while I am at it.
