After lurking on this site for months reading all I could about these trucks for the past year, I pulled the trigger and placed an order for my truck today.
2017 F350 King Ranch CCLB SRW Oxford White over Caribou
6.2 Gas V8
4.30 Gears
Ultimate Package
Trailer Camera System
FX-4
Spray in Bedliner
Upfitter Switches
etc.
I have been on the fence and putting this off. I have had in my head that I wanted a new truck, wanted this truck and was going to wait until I could order a 2018. Just didn't want the first year of a redesign. I figured that it would be soon since they came out so early. When I saw how long it was going to be, I decided to go for it.
The closest thing I could find locally to what I wanted was a F250 CCLB longbed KR with 6.2. Took the wife last weekend and went testdriving. Drove it, liked it, salesman was a dope. Started off by telling me truck was too big multiple times, why would I want something like this, etc. Explained I currently have a Dodge Ram 2500 4 door longbed, and while this will be longer, in the grand scheme of things this truck is not that much bigger. Suggested a F150. Took about a 10 mile test drive, liked the truck enough to talk about ordering one. Salesman didn't want bothered. Why don't I just buy this one? I explained that I wanted a 350, different color, different options, etc. Just didn't seem interested. I told him I would finish my research online and come in this weekend with exactly what I wanted to make it easy for him and we could talk. He said ok.
We left and went to a Chevy dealership. I knew I wanted a ford, but I wanted to drive a Chevy so I wouldn't be second guessing myself in the future. Ram was out of the question. Jumped in one with the 6.0 Gas for a test drive, literally went less than a mile, and headed back to the dealership. Told the salesman I didn't waste any more of his time, but the truck wasn't for me. He was very cool about it.
Wife called the Ford salesman Thursday to find out when would be a good time today. Left a voicemail and never heard back. Called again this AM, another voicemail. Sent him a text and saw that he read the txt, no reply.
Decided to go to another local dealership, and see what they had to say. Wonderful experience, walked in with a build and price of exactly what I wanted. Told him the basics, he asked if I minded if he tried to find one. I laughed and said sure. I told him I keep my trucks a while, so I wanted what I wanted, and it was kind of a unicorn being a King Ranch without diesel.
He looked real quick, said, lets do an order. I handed him my build and price, he verified everything, asked if I had any questions, wanted to take something they had on the lot for a ride, etc.
Super nice, professional, etc.
Came to a fair price, and did the order. Night and day experience between last weekend.
Now the wait begins...
I am very appreciative of all the knowledge that I have gained from this site over the past year and want to thank all the super helpful members who contribute.
Congrats on the order and finding a good dealer . It will be nice to get more 6R140 6.2 4.30 trucks out there to compare vs the 6R100 I have. I'm not sold about its efficiency help yet...
You ve just ordered the exact truck I ve been considering ordering ... F350 gas and 4.30 gears! I wish you already had it so we could start getting metrics. Very interested in what fuel consumption you ll see along with the towing ability.
Pkease keep us posted. Might I asked what kind of price you got it for vs MSRP?

I will provide as much info for others as I can but not sure how mainstream my info will be. I live on the other side of a ridge from civilization, so just about every time I leave my house, I have to climb approx. 900 vertical feet both coming and going.
When I moved here, mileage on my Ram 2500 dropped by about 4mpg.
But it is worth it to live in the woods, and if I wanted gas mileage, I wouldn't have ordered a F350.
Congratulations on your order. Before the computer age we ordered a truck and then just waited for the dealership to call. Believe it or not, that was a whole lot easier on me than it is today.
You'll love those massaging seats. I've never sat in a massaging seat that I liked until this one. Its designed leaps and bounds above the rest.
Should be a very nice truck, sounds pretty unique! Not too many oxford KRs out on the road. In my opinion, the oxford just looks so much better, a good pure white. Heres my unicorn, a monotone oxford KR. Some interior shots for you also... I know when I ordered it was tough going a couple hours without seeing truck pics

good luck on the wait!
I only have about 600 miles to mine (F350 CC SB 6.2 and the 4.3 rear) and so far it seems like I am averaging 11.3mpg for my daily city driving. Have had it on the highway but don't think it was much higher.
As for towing, once I hit the 1000 miles I'll have the trailer hooked and running a test.
I was used to the F150 Ecoboost mileage, just hope mine doesn't get worse as I know it will never be near that mileage.

Sorry fmuguira, , I missed the part about MSRP earlier....
I got just over under 8% off MSRP, and also got more than I was expecting for my trade. I actually did slightly better than what I expected... I was happy.
Congrats on your order and on finding a salesperson worth talking with - amazing how hard that can be. I just ordered a 6.2L F-350 myself, although I chose the 3.73 axle as I don't intend to tow much of anything, just carry a medium-sized truck camper. Good luck with the truck.
I found a couple higher trim models in my area, but outside of XL work trucks, nothing in CCLB and Gas.
I am in PA and the closest match to what I wanted was in TN. and even that wasn't an exact match.
This dealer is in VT. I checked again; it is an F-350 short bed King Ranch gas 6.2L 4x4 with the 3.73 locking rear and it is the Platinum White / Caribou.
So you're looking for a long bed, oxford white, and 4.30. Those options would be a bit less common. Dealer also has a gas-powered Platinum, but again, a short bed and 3.73 locker.

It is funny, this truck was one of the options should my 'recall saga' go the distance; fortunately it did not.
