Only trucks to offer massaging seats are the Platinum and KR. Power steps are standard on Platinums and optional with the KR. BUT, to get the massaging seats on the KR, the Ultimate package has to be selected which adds power steps. If you want massaging seats, you are stuck with power steps.
Build and price is your friend, once you order a plate, I will take your power steps for my 6" boards I know it's crazy the way the packages work. The KR and the plat don't allow the chrome npbumpers so I have a lariat ultimate. Painted bumpers just don't work round here....
I have King Ranch with Chrome Bumpers. You have to order the Chrome package to get them. This does add "bling" that some may not like. You can also get everything, but the massaging seats individually eg (LED lights, Power running boards, BLIS, etc...). To get the massaging seats, you end up with the moon roof.
It is possible, but it seems you always end up with something you don't want.
So can i get a platinum with chrome package and get chrome bumpers?
No, the chrome package isn't available on the Platinum. If you want the massaging seats and chrome bumpers, KR with the Chrome Package is the combination (but you're still stuck with the power steps).
I was in the same boat as you, but decided I can live without the messaging seats and could not live with the painted bumpers. I had a platinum in my last truck and the stone chips in the bumper were ridiculous. Unfortunately, silver isn't offered in the KR or I would have considered that route.
So can i get a platinum with chrome package and get chrome bumpers?
I understand your frustration. I bought a 2017 Platinum Super Duty and would have liked to have chrome bumpers as well. It's seem as though it would be easy for Ford to give customers that particular option.
My assumption is they make them as packages to make the ordering of parts and the assembly line smoother. I also assume they try and bunch trim levels of trucks together to again make things smoother. The painted bumpers look good when new but unfortunately get chipped up. I took the painted bumpers to get the other options. I can always switch to chrome bumpers later.
I'm getting a loaded lariat with the white platinum met tri-coat paint and it has chrome bumpers front/rear. I would be interested in trading front/rear bumpers with someone who has a white platinum with paint matched bumpers. I'm not a fan of chrome and I want paint matched bumpers. Just an idea if anyone is interested that wants a platinum with chrome bumpers.
