It would be interesting to see how they fold it for shipping. The original BedRug rolls up into a relatively small package. If it didn't have the zippers, that would be an interesting challenge.

This new item should be relatively easy to package up.
Lay it out in the sun for a short time before installation and it should be good to go.
I agree with you that without those zippers, the box would need to be bigger and that`s probably why they made it in three pieces.
Just FYI, we have found that we need to "train" the connector between the bed and the tailgate. The flexible "flap" wants to drop into the space between. It tends to jamb up the closing of the tailgate.
I just got mine on Wed. easy install. I like the feel of it compared to the rubber mat I have in my Ranger. Here's some pics of my install. It does come rolled up in a box. Super light weight for the size. It does fold down into the hinge area. The tailgate does fold without an issue. I do wish it fit closer to the edges that it does.
Yesterday I was thinking about this item and I think the reason they didn`t make it larger so it`ll fit snug into the bed is because BedRug figured that when or if people use this without any kind of tonneau cover, when it rains, the water will have an easier time draining out of the bed.
I also had another idea to make this item look much better.
Monday i`m going to contact an auto upholstery shop and ask them how much would it be to sew a black finishing edge around the sides and the bulkhead so it`ll match the end of the mat on the tailgate.
For those with tonneau covers or those who don`t care about drainage with an open bed, or even those with "OCD" Lol....this little detail would really look nice.
Just ordered mine for $169.16 with free shipping and no tax. This is the part number for this new mat and 15-17 F150s:
BedRug XLTBMQ15SCS XLT Mat Fits 15-17 F-150
If you google this about all the prices will be $199 but if you are new to Jet.com you can get 15% off your first three orders and the max discount is $30 I think. In this case the discount was $29.84 so seems like a perfect item to use for 15% off. I had only ordered from them once before in 2016 and my 15% off was expired. I called them and they gave me a 15% off immediately to my cart over the phone and it was super easy. I was impressed with the service and it was only my 2nd order and I don't work for Jet.com.
Sorry if were aren't supposed to list any specific retailer but thought this was worth mentioning to anyone looking for this new BedRug mat.
This should make a nice addition to my new truck after my ARE Z-Series gets installed in a few weeks.
What is the advantage of this over the rubber mat that's half the price?
The BedRug feels better when you're crawling around on it, it's more slip-resistant, it's more chemical resistant than a rubber mat (isn't affected by bird droppings, battery acid, lacquer thinner, etc), it's tied down to the bed, unlike the rubber mats that fly all over the place in wind or in a car wash.
I'm thinking about getting one over my Line-X'ed 1988 F150 bed. Too bad they don't make one cut to fit my bed, I would have to cut it myself!
I only wish they sold uncut mat material so you can shape it for whatever use you wanted. I'm thinking dog kennel pad which this would be perfect for.
I thought they did!
I checked their website yesterday, and they sell a 'universal' mat, which looks to me like a big roll that you can use to cut the piece to the size and shape you want.
