I don't have time to do a lot of searching this morning so I wanted to know what some of you have done with your brakes? Mine are getting close to needing replacement, the rotors have been warped and the dealership turned the rear rotors that stopped a bad vibration when applying the brakes, however the fronts are now doing the same.
I was just wondering if some of you went with different brands that may work better and still have almost no brake dust?
Can't help there, but I'm pretty much in the same boat. 50k miles and replacing brakes, I've always gotten around 75k out of a set.
Odd you mentioned the rear brakes, my rears are wearing faster than the front. Never had any vehicle do that before. I've also noticed my brakes appear to be getting soft, another first for me.
Subbed, I'd like to know the same as yourself without breaking the bank.
I buy Motorcraft rotors and pads from Rockauto.com. Had to finally replace my rears for the first time at 110,000. Fronts and rears both have no warping and no noise. I drive through water, mud, snow, tow trailers on hot days, etc. Zero problems. I'm at 112,000 and climbing now.
I was looking around today and saw vented rotors and ceramic brake pad combo Raptor Power Stop Z23 Full Brake Kit for about $450, don't know if this is good or not. The odd thing is that I haven't been towing much at all mostly commuting miles and I am still getting warped rotor pulsing. I have about 69,800 miles right now.
Can't say enough good things about the Power Stop brake kit with slotted and drilled rotors. I've had mine about 2 years now..i think? and they are smooth as butter and stop better then stock. My stock brakes were warped also by 30k miles.
We just put a set on our 2013 F-150 at work with 55k miles on it and the driver is very happy with it, the factory brakes were warped bad and pads almost all gone.
I'm at 74K on the OE brakes and the pads are still healthy but the front rotors are in need or replacement. When I do replace, I'll install MC pads and Duralast rotors.

4th'd. My Flex has the PowerStop Z23 kit on the front and rear and I love them. My buddy put the same kit on his 13 FX4 and loves them as well. Once I need brakes I'll be putting that kit on my truck too along with painting the calipers and brackets.
Does that mean the Z36 kit will wear faster (or produce more dust)? How is the dust for the Power Stop compared with OE pads?
I can't remember which kit I got, but I know the dust is a real concern with white wheels. Stock the wheels were covered within a few days after cleaning, with the power stop kit I can go a week or little more and not show much for dust. Big improvement!
The Z23 is the "daily driver" kit and the Z36 is the "tow" kit. I'm assuming the Z36 just has more aggressive pads in it.
So it appears then, that with tires and wheels like I have, Raptor wheels and 315/70/17 KO2's, read that heavy, that the Z36 might be the better choice?
