I just logged on to this web site and I think it's great. Now to my question.I own a 1999 F 150 supercab Lariat 4x4.I love the truck and have had it for a couple of years.I would love bigger tires for a more aggresive look.It has the stock 16 inch rims on it.What is the biggest tir i can use with stock rims w/out a suspension upgrade.Thanx fo the help.Great site.
i have an 03 f150 and i have heard some say that you can fit up to 33's on a stok f150 with a little triming you can easily run 295's and still have room and i myself am thinkin bout upgrading to around a 31/32 (those will push the 16in. rims) without a lift or anything if you want me to be more specific just ask and i can give you the exact sizes
I saw on a tv show the other day where they fit some 295's w/out a lift.Thet did upgrade the rims though.A 31 is about where i would like to go with an all terrain tread. It seems like this is a pretty common question just from browsing the forums here. Thanks for the help.
1999 F-150 Lariat supercab 4x4 5.4 Triton V8
no mods yet but hopefully soon!
I had 265/75R16s (approx 32") on my 99 xlt 4x4. They gave the truck a nice look, filled out the wheel wells nicely. I went back down to the size you currently have, and noticed a big improvement in the responsiveness of the truck. (acceleration and handling). Fuel mileage also improved, but probably only because the speedometer error is not so great...(my truck was originally spec'ed with 235s) more mph when doing the math equals more mpg... They do look smaller in the wheel wells. If I had the money to spend, I think it's worthwhile to change the gearing to match the bigger tires.
