Steering Gear Box Leakage

My friend thinks it might be the bearing and/or bushing inside the steering gear box. You think there is a chance, or should I go ahead with the seal replacment and not worry about it? He said that with out seeing it.

If you have excessive play in the steering, yes, it may be a bearing (or a few other potentials,) but if it is the leaking you're worried about, replacing a bearing won't fix it. Regardless, you'll need to replace all the seals anyway if you're gonna replace bearings.
