If you do not have factory remote start, you would still use the two modules shown (VSS and RMU).
Once you have them installed, you will have to go to your local dealer to have the remote start feature turned on inside the truck,
After the remote start feature is turned on, we can activate the smart phone RMU over the phone in about 5 minutes.
**Note, this will give you remote start ability from your smart phone only**

When you say go to local dealer and have the remote start feature turned on inside the truck....is this something we can do using Forscan?

I have a few questions ... I currently have remote start, I presume it's the standard unit that came from the factory, (ours is a 2011 Lariat, with key fobs that allow us to remote start). That said, will this unit work with ours? Do we have to have anything 'turned on' at the dealership or would it simply be plug and play since we already have remote start? Yes this kit will work with your 2011, and since you already have factory remote start, it is a simple plug and play install. The only extra step that will need to be taken is for us to activate the sim over the phone once it is installed.

Currently our sister warehouse in Houston is flooding so we are working with helping them out also.
