Well all of a sudden my truck starts having a bunch of issues. I am getting a horrible turbo flutter after hard acceleration and when it shifts occasionally, and it's getting worse. My EOT and ECT deltas are 35 degrees off with my ECT at 188 and EOT at 223. My truck is also having a starting issue once at temp. Runs fine, shut it off and try to restart and it just cranks. I tried pulling my ICP sensor plug but it didn't make a difference. So o have been reading and trying to diagnose but I'm just spinning in circles. I have read anything from a bad eve causing the turbo flutter to a bad EBP sensor causing it and a million things about the starting issue. And the deltas I honestly don't know where to start. I know that more information is needed but I don't know what information to post up so just tell me what you need and I'll post it up. In serious need of help.
With the high temps the oil cooler is possibly plugged , what's the coolant doing any puke white around the cap or engine bay, any codes drawn ? Also what year we talking about?

Haha, I don't if the wording of POSSIBLY is needed ........ It IS clogged.
It's a 2004, build date 05/04. The coolant isn't puking out anywhere and it's not white and foamy anywhere. I'm not getting any codes at all. I have an sct x4 and that's what I'm using as a data scanner.
I'll have to get you the IPR vs ICP next time it occurs. I've never looked because I honestly don't know what I'm looking at anyway. I am running the canned sct performance tune.
Ok so I flashed my truck back to stock just to start diagnosing with baseline stock numbers. My first 3 pics are me doing 75 mph on the interstate after nice and warmed up. The fourth one is a no start condition with the ICP pigtail plugged in. The 5th is when it started with the ICP pigtail unplugged. I noticed after flashing the truck back to stock my EOT went even higher. Nothing else seemed to change except the turbo flutter is a little less noticeable. I assume that's because the performance tune makes more boost which will create more flutter. Let me know what you guys think.
The good news is you are not puking coolant but are way overdue for an oil cooler, first thing I would check is that the EOT and ECT are the same or close after sitting overnight, that would rule out a bad sensor.
As for the no hot starts, and this is assuming it starts good cold just not hot? It is time for an air test. You have an 04 with the ICP on passenger valve cover, so it could be the dummy plugs and/or stand pipes.....many will do them both at the same time and they come in the same kit.
It could also be your HPOP, since you have a mid change engine......it's going to have the early build HPOP which is another know failure point.
Looking at those figures, I would not be driving it with EOT that high if that is accurate.
As for the no start, looks like you have a leaker.
I also wonder is that EBP a little high?
How do I do an air test and what exactly does it test? And I don't have the option to not drive the truck since it's my everyday truck and the only one I have. I'm a pretty adept mechanic so I can fix most things I just need to know what I'm going after first. I don't know where the dummy plugs and up pipe are located.
For starters, check your EOT and ECT tomorrow morning before you start it. If they are reading the same then it's time to jerk the oil cooler or you will soon be at the point of not having a daily driver. If it gets much over 250 it will defuel but by then you will likely see other things start to happen, none of which are good.
Not trying to sound like a know it all, just hate to see an engine destroyed.
I would advise only using an OEM cooler. Don't cheap out with an ebay special, they are junk.
Google 6.0 air test for a ton of good videos, as well as a ton of info right here in the tech folders.
DP's and stand pipes are under the valve covers
So you have a HPO leak on top of your oil cooler issue.
Is the ICP on the PS valve cover or tucked in under the turbo?
ICP duty cycle shouldn't ever be 84% its trying to compensate for a leak to build the ICP pressure to start.....just went thru this issue with my own truck.

The ICP is on the passenger side valve cover so it's easy to get to. And that leake sure sounds like it's going to cost me a good deal of times and money. Where do I start on getting that fixed?
I would start by doing an air test so you have a general idea where the leak is coming from before tearing anything down.
Otherwise trying to pinpoint a leak unless blatantly obvious is like trying to land a feather on a moving aircraft carrier with a headwind.
