2017 6.2 MPG F-350
I will be ordering this coming Monday. I want a F-350 because I will be carrying a truck camper. I will order 4.3 gears. Most of the posts about fuel economy are F-250 owners. Are there some F-350 owners out there that are willing to post there fuel economy numbers.
I am interested in unloaded mileage numbers. I have considered a F-250 but hate to give up 500 lbs in payload. From what I can tell 2017 F-250's with 4.3 gearing are capable of 15-16mpg. Just wondering what to expect from the F-350 with the 6R140 transmission.
At the end of the day whatever the fuel economy numbers for a 2017 F-350 are is what I will have.

I have a new F350 6.2 (see signature line). However, it has only ~500 miles on the odometer, so it'll be a while before I can offer up any realistic mpg numbers.
Some things to consider:
Alternatively, let's compare the "official" max cargo specs for slide-in camper applications from the 2017 RV Tow Guide:

Some things to consider:
1) Is doesn't appear that there are many 2017 F350 6.2's out there. Be patient waiting for data.
2) Ford improved the engine torque spec for the 2017 6.2, so I hope we see a f/e improvement over earlier models.
3) Don't forget to consider using mid-grade- or premium fuel when running heavily loaded. See OM page 184.
Are you still considering a 4x4? If so, an F350 6.2 CCSB 4x4 w/ 18" A/T tires will "officially" net you an ~1,000 lb. payload increase over an F250. And, according to the spec manual, that F350 will come with a five-leaf rear spring pack vs a four-leaf pack for the F250 (assuming equipped w/ the camper package).2) Ford improved the engine torque spec for the 2017 6.2, so I hope we see a f/e improvement over earlier models.

Alternatively, let's compare the "official" max cargo specs for slide-in camper applications from the 2017 RV Tow Guide:
F350 6.2 4x4 SRW CCSB with 18" A/T tires: 3,646 lbs.
F250 6.2 4X4 CCSB: 2,622 lbs.
Which truck camper?F250 6.2 4X4 CCSB: 2,622 lbs.

I have yet to get a full tank run just cruising on the highway, most of my driving (a little over 5800 miles) has been in town (work commute, shopping trips, etc). My lifetime, as shown on the dash, is at 12.7 and has been coming up slowly. My last few tanks have been in the 13.x range. On some short highway cruises I've been above 14 and think I can get towards 15 with just highway.

14 at 65mph is very doable. Over 70 is where mine struggles to maintain 14. At 60 I'm an easy 15+mpg.

First 4 are unloaded, mostly freeway, avg 70 mph
Next 4 are with camper, all freeway, avg 65 mph
Last 3 are mixed. I'm not sure about that 1 lowball.
Except for 1 tank, all gas is California 87 octane w/ethanol.
Lifetime avg. so far is 10.3 mpg

Mileage
2015 F350XL CCSB 3.73, 6.2L
Live and drive in central Ohio.
Added a K&N filter when new.
I haul a 12K deckover about once per week for 100-200 miles.
I have 44K on the ODO.
Mostly around town and rural highways with stop signs, etc.
I have averaged 12.6 overall since new.
I drive like most. Occasionally "blow out the carbon". 60 on 55 mph roads, 75 on 70mph roads.
I change the oil regularly at 4500.
Putting on the first set of new skins this weekend.
Also new pads and rotors on front.
Just an average driver, typical mileage.

I posted on the below thread my mileage in my new 350 on a trip down to Denver this past Friday. You can see the post here - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...6-2-mpg-3.html
On my return trip back to Casper I kicked the speed up to 75 mph on cruise and I got 15 mpg at that speed.
No bad in my opinion on a truck with 1000 miles on it.

For what its worth. I have a 2 wheel drive 15 crew cab 6.2l dually with 4.30.
The highest avg mpg I have ever gotten has been 11. I run empty 90% of the time with only me and my hitch in the truck. The above number is combo city/interstate driving.
That being said I didn't buy it for MPG though it would have been nice to get a little more.
