EVAP SYSTEM
I have a 2000 XLT 6cyl 4.0 SOHC. I'm looking for a complete legible diagram of the Evaporative system. The usual mechanic books are vague in description and any diagrams provided are either of another year with a different set up or just a general evap system concept with no specific application. When I got the Explorer, the only components it had was the purge valve up front and the two lines coming from it, one to the manifold and one to the rear of the vehicle. There's another line bracketed to the one at the rear but its a short one that ends (or begins) at the rear axel. From a salvage yard I got 2 canisters, a vent solenoid, a fuel separator and some hoses. I know the gas tank vents into the system at some point. Other than that, any information I have found is vague and non specific.
Can anyone either point me to a diagram, draw one or just explain how this system is plumbed?
