2017 vs. 2018
I know there will not be major changes, but I suspect there will be some slight nuances.
Maybe a better remote starter phone app that does not require adding special additional parts and requiring a dealer PIN? Or some slightly better options on other electronics? Maybe more payload?
When will the 2018s be ready for order? I know on 7/30/02, I ordered my 03 F350. I am getting anxious for a new truck.
Additional changes for 2018 include an optional air-ride suspension system and your choice of solid front axle or all-new independent front suspension to help woo GM customers. The air-ride system is capable of lifting the truck 6" so customers may easily convert their truck into a Bro-Dozer without the hassle of an aftermarket lift kit.
The final major mechanical change is allowing the customer to choose if they want the factory exhaust after-treatment system on the 6.7L Powerstroke engine. The system is comprised of an EGR cooler, an SCR system, and a DPF. Ford is pleased to announce the updated system uses less DEF than the previous generation system. Trucks will come standard without the system; the after-treatment system is a $5,195 option. Trucks sold in the state of California without the system WILL be equipped with a modified version of the VW TDI emissions-testing software from Bosch at no additional cost.
Interior changes are minor, with the exception of the 1,000W B&O audio system replacing the previous Sony Premium Audio system.
