Yours for postage, but I know a hydraulic supply store that has these, as well as NAPA. Let me check them out tomorrow.

I'm thinking thread size on a standard 5/16 inverted flare is 24?

Yep.

I called around, everyone says they go from 1/4 to 3/8, no 5/16. One guy who seemed to be knowledgeable said he thought the long fittings were unique to Ford, not sure if that's a true fact or not. No luck here.

I wonder if there isn't a terminology issue happening here. Check out this piece:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-13004/overview/

I don't know if the threads are deep enough on that one.

The fitting I have has a 1/2" thread, on a 5/16" line.

Can you measure the ID of the threaded hole?

I went to the hydraulics store, a Parker dealer. They had nothing. I wonder if an automatic trans shop would have some or some old lines laying around?

are you sure you don't need brass adaptor fitting that use an "o" ring under the head, then goes to a female inverted flair? that's what my aod wants. it's not the one with "npt" male threads, I think they call it "sp" threads or straight pipe threads .but these ones use a "o" ring under the head. you cen use the npt threads if you don't over tighten, you can crack the trans case. disregard if none of this applies.

Ok first of all I have to thank every one that tried to help me with my problem. I was once told there are no stupid questions. Well I had one. I was looking for a long 5/16 inverted flare nut. That's where the stupid part came in. Well they don't make them anymore. And I didn't need one. The radiator doesn't need a inverted flare it just needed a transmission line connector. I was told by a transmission guy to check the radiator and sure enough I had it all wrong. Thanks again to everyone that helped> I well try in the future to do a better job
