They look like the one ones on my truck. Pretty straight forward, slide in the base, bolt it on, attach the arm and tighten the nut to keep it in place.
I didn't have to drill any holes or do anything extra besides remove a plug on the door that covered where the base attaches.
There is a groove/slot close to the front seam of the door. Slide the mirror mount into the groove. Look into the door from the front edge by the weather stripping and align the holes of the door to the mirror mount and install the two bolts. I seem to recall it is the first and the last holes of the mirror mount that your 54 will use.
