Thoughts on just doing an exhaust upgrade instead of a full mini max kit with all the deletes I know that's the way to go but I wanna keep my warranty any thoughts is just a exhaust upgrade bad to do by itself...i know even with an exhaust upgrade it will void warranty but if some major ends up happening I just swap back the stock exhaust thoughts

I assumed that was the case it's not that I want more sound would just like more performance but I'm new to the forum and all I read so far is do it all I didn't really wanna go nuts an void the warranty but I was curious on people's thoughts cause this def bull**** I hear from some people can cause problems down the road thoughts

As Brandon already mentioned, you won't gain any performance and very little sound by doing a filter back exhaust. To see any gain in sound or performance through exhaust, you would have to perform a tune and delete. You can load an emissions intact tune for more performance, but it still does nothing for the sound of the truck, and could still technically void warranty on parts broken because of higher than stock performance.

I removed the resonator from the DPF-back (still legal) like the folks above mentioned. Barely any noise change. If you start the truck cold in a closed garage, there is a little more of a quiet grumble....but you won't notice it sitting outside in a parking lot.
Other than that, I hated the stock two-port so having a "normal" pipe made me happy....however other oil burners now think that I'm deleted and tuned....and wanna see what I can do, much to my wife's disappointment. I do have a mini-maxx, however my emissions equipment remains intact and functional....for now.

How many miles are on the truck currently?
How long are you keeping it?
By and large most issues with the DPF and EGR are not going to occur until 150,000+ miles. Although there are always exceptions to that. Driving habits also come into play that can kill the emissions system sooner such as long periods of idle and towing heavy loads. I deleted at 138,000 and could not be happier (I've put about 50,000 miles on since the delete). I put up a you tube video on the topic and get deep in the weeds on it. Google " 6.7 delete what to know".
