Name this mystery toggle switch?

Without digging into the dash and tracing the wiring, any ideas what this little toggle might be for? Down/black is off, up/red is on.

Are there popular toggle additions for certain accessories?

It seems to be 100% factory original truck. No aftermarket accessories.
Motorcraft everystuff.

I didn't scroll all the down when I first saw the picture and thought "that's the parking sensor button you moron". Then I saw the real switch lol. Have you tried checking the fuse?

I hate to say it, but without tracing the wires to at least see what they're tapped into, we're just guessing.

I'm going to guess it deploys the oil slick behind you so you can get away from the cops. If nothing happens when you activate it, it's probably just out of oil.

Like I said, didn't know if was a popular location for a toggle for a known accessory.

Obviously not 100% factory with that toggle....I was just saying that there no additional accessories/mods to the truck....no additional lights, no back up camera, no snow plow attachments, no airbags, or whatever else could be put on these trucks.

It doesn't seem to do anything whether on or off...engine running or not.

Do your interior dome lights work with the switch in either position?

Looks like a switch for an aftermarket alarm/remote start.

Factory

I went out again, drove it around...got the engine warm...pulled over, flipped the switch, walked around the truck, under the hood....no idea. I'll trace the wiring.....someday. It must not be too important. My OCD kicks in with unanswered questions though.

It looks like the switch that came with my auto lamp after market kit. Turns the stem off and on.

As stated, it COULD be anything, it COULD also be left over from something the prior owner removed.. You will have to follow the wires.

It's the "Immaculate" option.
