V10 CATS

Does anyone have experience with an EX with either no CAT Convertor or one that has been modified...what were the implications of the situation?

Every vehicle I have been around without cats has an eye watering stench that gives it away. Personally, the V10 sounds like trash to me through an open exhaust so the cats also help tame the noise. Any gains from a catless ex won't be felt unless your cat was clogged to begin with. High flow cats are way cheaper now than they used to be.

Modifying your cat for a V10 aint gonna do anything except allow more pollution, produce more sound, and lower back-pressure which will decrease performance.

AND make it harder to sell (when the time comes) as new owners won't want to fork out the money for a new cat on a used truck. It will fail emissions and inspections (where applicable) and I guarantee you'll regret it.

I didnt have a cat when my truck was built, its true about eye watering stench. I had to shower after taking a short drive and it burned my eyes, it was terrible.
Put an aftermarket one on that fit and its all good now.
Never noticed any performance difference though.

What's mythical about it?

Please explain with facts how back pressure doesn't affect performance?

That actually proves back pressure isn't a myth.

According to that vid, stated differently but with the same result, without proper back pressure, the pulse velocity of the exhaust gasses will flow slower than optimum, thereby affecting performance.

Backpressure is a myth, don't listen to these jerkoffs. You need the largest (3 inch if possible) headers going into a 5-6 inch exhaust with a tasteful trashcan sized tip. Also make sure you get one those fancy K&N filters!!!
