Hello - I'm looking into adding a sound system to my F150 but would like to keep the stock radio intact. My first thoughts are some type of hidden receiver and CD changer - possibly with a remote. I found this Secretaudio system which is the type of install I'm looking for. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Secretaudio system or knows of any alternatives.
Dont buy that crap. IMO, anyone that tells you you'll get great sound when mounting speakers under your seat, is a numbnut.
You can use your stock player and still connect aftermarket amplifiers, speakers, and subs. As far as a CD changer, you could either get one that adapts to the stock headunit, or switch over to an MP3 headunit to play all of your favorite CD songs.
Smokey is right forget the crap. I kept my stock head unit for a year while I slowly got replacment speakers(fr & R), sub and amp. The stock head will sound ok, lots better with good speakers. When buget alowes get a head unit. I have the Alpine CDA9807 which is great. It plays mp3, wma, cdrw's and sounds great. Crutchfield has it for 280. but online you can get it for around 200. And it's xm ready.
