HD payload clarification

I'm looking at a 2015 Super Crew 4x4 5.0 f150 and the information I'm gathering states it does not have the HD payload package. Even states its the standard base payload of 7050. However, I'm looking at the summary after checking the VIN and it states it has HD front and rear shocks and the 9.75 axle. Can anyone verify this does have the HD payload or not? Here's the list:

The previous generation F150's had 7 Lug Wheels on the HD package. I'm not sure about the current generation but would guess the same is true.

Get the Vin and lets pull the window sticker. I don't think 2015's were actually able be ordered with the HD package although the option was in the order book.

There are no 7 lug wheels on the HDPP for the '15+ trucks.

To the OP, find out what the payload is on that truck. If its 2k-3k lbs then should be the HDPP

Here's the VIN:

1FTFW1EF9FFA43396

Thanks!

The truck even has the 18" wheels required for the HD payload package. I'm waiting on the dealer to send me a pic of the door tag.

Here's the link to the window sticker:

I don't see where there is a HD package option but it is a Canada Sticker.

Thank you. Are some things different for those sold in Canada? Or should I be wary buying one from a dealer who got it from Canada?

This is the first time I've been looking for something so new. I'm a little nervous and want to make the right decision. I'd like to get 10-15 years out of the truck. Pulling our 5500 hybrid TT 5-10 times a summer occasionally going out west. Also will haul firewood a few times a year

I have no experience on the Canada truck stuff. Maybe that 7050# GVWR package is a HD upgrade?

I did an internet search on FL34-5560-C. It came up in a couple forums as the rear spring for a 2016 F150 with the Heavy Duty Package. Since it's on the internet it must be true :0
I'm not sure what you are hauling. A F150 with out the HD package can handle a lot of weight. It will handle a load of firewood with ease.

My main concern is payload. Me, the wife, and 4 boys (they're young now, but will grow). They'll only ride with me when we go camping pulling our HtT. Fully loaded its 5500 lbs, but has a fairly high dry tongue weight of 650. That will go up a bit fully loaded. We aren't large people , right now we weigh 500 all together. But we would like to take our bikes and firewood as well (why the higher payload is wanted). We do not plan on upgrading a camper at all. We searched for over s year for the perfect HTT for us. I'm towing with a 2000 V10 excursion right now, but I can't rely on it when we take a trip out west next year.

I wouldn't worry about a Canadian vehicle - sometimes available option groups are different, but the F-150's all go down the same assembly line. Dealers around here have more used Canadian trucks than trucks originally sold in the U.S. Just a function of the exchange rate.

As for HD payload, I think there was a frame shortage among other delays, so no 2015's were built with the HD package, although there were internet forum rumors that there was one sold in Canada - maybe you found it!

Wish these were more common. We're in the same boat - our loaded hybrid has a tongue weight of about 850. Then put wood, bikes, kayaks, & people in the truck and we were out of payload. Thought about ordering an HD payload F-150, and also looked at several used 15's and 16's - 6.5' bed, EB's (from Canada). Killer deals, but got sucked in to going for Super Duty to end the payload worries once and for all.

I was originally going for a super duty. But eventually when my daily driver bites the dust then my truck would become my daily. I'd rather not drive a super duty daily. 🙄

I finally got the dealer to send me a pic of the payload sticker. It's 1760 lbs. I think if my math is right, it will be fine. When the kids are older we will have to out the bikes in the camper or something. It won't be an issue on long trips out west, we won't take our bikes or firewood then. But we do a lot of state park camping within an hour or two driving distance. Some of it pretty hilly (hocking hills state park in Ohio for example)

That tongue weight seems high compared to the trailer weight however it is within the limits of the F150. You are right about where Ford recommends a WDH. If loading & weight become an issue you may want to look into setting one up.
Hilly & mountains you'll like the 373 gears & you may even like a EcoBoost better than a V8.
It's really hard to stay within the payload capacity of a F150 when you start towing heavier weights.
Did you look at any F150's with the Max Towing package and the trailer tow mirrors? You might like the big mirrors for towing.

I have looked at them. I think the one I'm referencing does have the max tow. It has the trailer brake controller anyway. And it is 3.73.

If I go to a 3.31 gear will that really suck compare to the 3.73?

There are a few people on this site that tow with the 331s and are happy. I don't have any personal experience with the 331 other than a test drive. My 2012 F150 had the 373 & the 3.5L EB, that was an amazing towing setup. My current F150 has the 355 & 2.7L EB. I only have limited towing experience with it, so far I am happy with it. I did a 300 mile round trip tow with 4,200 lbs and all was good. I'll be making my first long tow in a couple weeks. It'll be about 5,500 lbs and 1,400 miles round trip.
