If you don't have a front sway bar, you can mount them to the sway bar mounting plates. You can find them at any off road supplier and many auto parts stores.I bought mine from 4 wheel parts.
You could get tow hooks from a 2008-2010 Superduty. The bolts are M12-1.75. There's a plate attached to it which is like a mirror image of our frame so you might have to cut some of it out. Then weld in the 3 nuts inside the frame, cut holes in your bumper, then done. I'm doing this to my truck soon and that's my plan.
I had mine mounted to my frame rails (just drilled right thru the crunchy part (crumple zone)) but I also had a winch installed which also served to tie the frame rails together as Diesel_Brad mentions.
I welded up a 4" channel with tabs to fit 10k clevis onto. Later added a receiver. It's handy as heck when wheeling or moving a big trailer into a tight spot. I can lift the front of the truck with a hilift, and have reliable front tow points. The bumper needed the center hole enlarged for the receiver but this keeps it from killing the approach angle. Here's the best picture I have of it.
