Styleside vs Dentside
I really hate to show my ignorance but I would like to know what the difference is between sytleside and dentside? My truck is listed as a styleside but everything here refers to the entire series of 73-79 as dentside.
There is no such thing a s a stupid question, just the people who ask them

Dentside is the 6th generation Ford truck body style --1973-1979.
Styleside in the Ford trucks is the equivalent to the Fleetside in the Chevrolets.
Flareside in the Ford trucks is the equivalent to the Stepside in the Chevrolets.

The "dentside" moniker comes from the body lines. The previous body style was called "bumpside":

Are "Dentside" and "Bumpside."
"Flareside" and "Styleside" are Henry's own words... (or his employees')

Flareside & Styleside names coined by FoMoCo circa 1956. Styleside introduced January 1957.
The War Production Board was alarmed on how FoMoCo was being operated, got "The Deuce" (Henry Ford II) released from the USN so he could take over.
The Deuce began running FoMoCo in 1945, Henry died in 1947.

Dentside and bumpside are far more descriptive, and easier to remember.
I think of "stylesides have style" and "flaresides have flair"
I'd rather have style than flair, and I'd rather have a styleside than a flareside.
