If the OP counts the teeth on that 302 HO flexplate, I'll betcha it has 157 teeth.
You're on. I betcha a pop it has 164.
OP never mentioned what the 302 H.O. came out of. Yesterday I guessed 1992 Mustang H.O. Which calls for a E2AZ6375A. Which replaced a E0AZ6375A. Which in my 73/79 slide shows 164 teeth. But I can understand where you would have thought a Mustang would have been a small bell.

Here we go. I lost the last bet to Jeff. I'm going to cook up a fresh batch of popcorn for this one.

Pass some of that popcorn over to me. I just won a pop I can drink while I'm eating it.

How many teeth does a 1980/89 302 car M/T flywheel have? 157 teeth, so would the flexplate be any different?
Because one is M/T and the other is A/T. Kinda like in the past a M/T 302 and a A/T 302 vehicle took two different 11002 part numbers.
1990 Mark 302 also takes E2AZ6375A according to my Ford computer Microcat program.. Nowhere in current listings do I see where Ford says how many teeth a E2AZ has. So I went in the past. E2AZ6375A replaced E0AZ6375A. So they would have the same amount of teeth. As I stated above, in my 73/79 Car slide (Section 60.3, page 10) Ford lists the E0AZ6375A fitting various vehicles with a 302 and having 164 teeth.

I'm looking at 1980/89 Ford L/M Car (11/93 edition) 302: EOAZ-6375-A = 1980 C4/AOT/FMX
I'm looking at 1980/89 Ford L/M Car (11/93 edition) 302: EOAZ-6375-A = 1980 C4/AOT/FMX
E2AZ-6375-A all 1982/89 A/T
Thanks Bill.
There you go andrew's64, Bill just proved that the flexplate your 302 has on it now will fit both the Mark VII overdrive and your FMX. The starter your Mark 302 now has on it will prolly work. But I still think I'd get a starter for whatever your FMX bell came out of. I kinda like having the starter solenoid up on the inner fender.

I just remembered there is no way the E2AZ6375A could have replaced the E0AZ6375A because that is when Ford changed how the 302's are balanced.
So andrew's64, it is up to you. I'm still betting your Mark VII 302 flexplate has 164 teeth. But I can't prove it other than You counting them.

ok well ill have to wait to get some time to pull the engine from the aod to count the teeth. Ill get back with the count asap
i cant seem to find out what the bellhousing came out of. Anyone know where i can find what vehicle it came out of?
That engineering number doesn't show up in any of my Ford slides either. So I have to "assume" 1980 Crown Vic or Grand Marquis. 1980 CV or GM could have come from the factory with a C4,C6,AOD, or a FMX.
E=1980's decade.
0= the year in the decade. 1980
A=Crown Vic.
Is the tag still on the transmission? Example....PHB-BH3.

It cannot be a C4 or C6 or AOD housing, as all are made as part of the trans case.
Yepper. I saw that Bill. That's what I thought it is also. None of the slides I have would go E0AP7976A forward or D9AZ7976A backwards. I tried C/REF, 73/73 F1, 73/79 M1, my Ford Microcat computer, and DOW ( new version of DOESII).
