Bucking, rough running

2006 F350 6.0
I am piling up parts for a bulletproof party later this summer.
It has gotten grumpy ahead of schedule.
I will hook up the AE tomorrow for consultation.

In the meantime.
Running rough at 50. Seems to accelerate from a stop semi ok.
Sitting at idle, holding rpm at 1750 I hear kind of a thump under the hood and the rpm drops 300, then slowly finds it way back to 1750 and it repeats itself.

This thump has not been noticed in the past. Could this be the VGT not working as expected?

Thanks

Does it stall out ? High low Rpms ? Any Codes? Also do you still have the EGR valve

no stalling. symptoms as describe.
I was just curious if anyone else had heard a muffled thump with the rpms going up and down. I only hear it when sitting in neutral with the rpm steady.
Going down the road I could not hear it but I did have the bucking and running rough between 35 and 60.
I should know more later tomorrow after I do the EA thing.....I hope.

Only code I have is a 1352 key on but I know what that is. Currently chasing loss of tail, running, license plate, instrument lights.

Could be a turbo fart or the heater blend door thumping , monitor VGT , map, EBP, on your gauges , have you cleaned up the map and threaded nipple in the intake the sensor itself don't plug up just the threaded nipple ?, the EBP and tube will get plugged , make sure you spray WD on the tube nuts before trying to brake them loose or run a weed eater line after the sensor is off . While your in there the Iat2 sensor will be plugged too, these should get some relieve if you have never cleaned them up ,

Ya gotta wonder sometimes.
Since it was running rough I figured injector issue.
I added some arch oil and proceeded to drive it like I stole it.
The mini thump went away and it was running better but not great.
Injector probably.

Update:
As suspected AE showed me #8 injector was likely fubar. I say likely as this kind of came and went so it was headed down the rabbit hole.

Changing #8 and will clean the egr, ebp, etc while I am at it.

With a bit of luck this may get me through until Bulletproof day...or week.
