Detail & CQuartz

Hey guys, new member here.

I was wondering if any of you have had your vehicle CQuartz and if so, do you like it and how long did it hold up.

I`m looking to have this done hopefully within the next two months when this weather gets back to normal.

Also, my vehicle is a 2016 Lariat in White Platinum so i`m especially interested in hearing about the process with this color vehicle.

Looking forward to any advice or replies.

My thoughts on this:
Buyer beware, Not saying it isn't a good product, but these systems that are "guaranteed" usually have a caveat for the "warranty" as in, properly maintained and their properly maintained usually means bringing it back in at specific intervals and allow "professionals" reapply / maintain. Which is another charge.

Regardless of the product, it will have to be maintained, I feel you can get better results purchasing quality products and DIY it. My truck is also white, I live in the deep south and it is never garage kept and goes in some pretty bad environments (I work in the oilfield). I looked up C-Quartz and tried to access warranty details, but and I may have not searched deep enough, you needed to register the product, ie be a customer to do so.
Auto Geek sells C-Quartz, and it is expensive....IMHO, purchase so less expensive, quality products (I purchase all mine online) and do it yourself. Which I actually enjoy maintaining my vehicles finish.

I had the front of my wife's SUV wrapped with Xpel, otherwise I just use a quality wash, wax, sealer and elbow grease.

Good morning and thanks for the reply and info.

I was considering the CQuartz and Xpel so i`m glad to hear that you have experience with the latter.

How does the Xpel hold up?

So far so good......Her vehicle is a 2016 Porsche Macan Turbo, we had the front end, most of the hood and a few other areas in October of 2015, no issues as of yet. I'm satisfied with it, it has prevent numerous rock chips, etc. It's expensive, but to try to repaint her vehicle (even partially) is astronomical. And yes, It's also White...

If you go the route we went, you just have to pay close attention to the edges when washing, I haven't had issues with it wanting to lift or anything, but if the vehicle is extremely dirty, you just need to pay closer attention to the application line as it will hold dirt.

I had my 911 turbo CQuartz-es a little over 5 years ago. Still looks good and stays much cleaner longer. It is also easier to clean when it does get dirty. I think is is a good investment. I might get my truck done. It is just finding the time. The guy I use takes about 3 days to do. Painter correction the first day. Cquartz the second. Detail prep the 3rd.

Good to hear.
Like I had mentioned to the OP, I haven't had any experience with C-Quartz, most of the "systems" I've seen weren't any better than keeping it detailed yourself. Do you have to take it back in periodically to maintain?
So far, knock on wood, I've been able to keep up with all of my vehicles with no issues with the finish. I'm glad I had the Xpel applied to the Porsche, especially during Love Bug season.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the follow up and the info.

Both products sound like they`ll do a very good job.

I just sent a couple of email`s to a couple of detail shops that do both and they`re going to get back to me with a price.

I`ve heard that both procedures are not cheap but as I always say, most of the time, you get what you pay for.

I`ll let you guys know what they say and you all can tell me if it`s a good price.

Again, thank`s for the advice.

I have not had to take it back for anything. I only hand was my cars and use a quick detailer and spray on wax. All Griots products.
Car still shines and looks good. Was a daily driver 2 years during the coating and now it comes out for drives and nice days.

I've used Griots...
The last few years I've been using Adams, Poor Boy's World and Zaino's products. They're all great, I've learned it's cheaper to order bulk than to purchase from stores.
I have a cabinet full of cleaning products, my wife says I have a mental hang up! LOL I've always enjoyed detailing vehicles for whatever reason. The Porsche has only had 1 treatment of Zaino's and of course the Xpel on the hood, mirrors, rear valance, etc...I use Adam's car shampoo (PH Neutral) and dry it with the Adam's H2O Guard & Gloss. In Late December I applied a coat of 3M synthetic wax....it's the Warden's daily driver.

Good morning guys.

Well,

I received the replies and here are the quotes they gave me.

1200.00 for the CQuartz Finest coating plus one step polish with a 7 year warranty but he asked me to give them a call so he could tell me what all is involved. If this price includes a full detail then i`m in.

Another shop gave me these quotes.

Detail..350.00
Any paint correction..700.00
Opti Coat Pro..800.00 with a 5 year warranty
Opti Coat Pro Plus..1200.00 with a 7 year warranty
Opti Coat on Glass..200.00
Opti Coat on Wheels..400.00
Opti Leather & Fabric Treatment..600.00 with a 5 year warranty

Still waiting on the Xpel quotes but maybe i`ll have to call them for that.

Any thoughts?

Hope to hear from anyone soon.

Nice looking Porsche.

I`ve been looking at various products on the market and i`ve heard that Adams & Griots are some of the best.

Since my truck will not fit in my garage, i`ll invest in a nice car/truck cover because I usually only drive it on the weekends and sometimes not at all.

Everything in my yard is White.....

Except the oldest daughters Mini Cooper....it's brown, must be the mail man's kid

Nice Porsche's.....I get to drive the wife's every now and then and she is always with me with that LOOK....

GABAR,
I have no idea what a good price on the CQuartz would be.
I don't think you can go wrong with Griot's or Adam's. I really like Adam's car wash, it's PH Neutral, when I wash my vehicles, I first rinse off what I can, then apply the Adam's with a foam gun, hand wash the entire vehicle before rinsing....it NEVER leaves any spots and yes, most of it dries before I complete washing it. I used to wash a panel, rinse, spray the entire vehicle, wash another panel, rinse the entire vehicle.......and still get water spots. Since using Adam's and the foam gun, no other spots. I still haven't gotten brave enough to wash in the direct sunlight.

Good morning and thanks for the reply.

I agree with you on washing in the sun because if it`s too hot out, you`re just asking for trouble.

I need to invest in some of the items you mentioned such as the foam gun.
