transmission problem

transmission problem
Hello everyone,
This is my first post and hope to get some info regarding.
A problem that happened all of the sudden.
2002 F350 4x4 7.3 4R100 trans 43,000 mi, chip program mod, air intake mods & 4in exh system
daily use towing 10,000lb trailer.
PROBLEM: overdrive lite comes on flashes wont shift out of second gear. Pulled codes #PO782 transmission code.
Cleared codes, trans shifts normal but wont go into OD lite stays on. just did a complete trans service. Fluid is clean and doesn't smell burnt. I suspect the torque converter. And hope it is only a sensor. thanks in advance for any replys.

Sounds like the trans is in the limp mode. If a fault is found it will lock into 2nd gear and allow the truck to be driven. have the trans scanned. I suspect a bad connection in one of the electrical plugs or a blown fuse.

something similar just happened to my dad's truck.
it would shift into 2nd then 3rd, and while your going 45 or so, downshift to 2nd, then down again to 1st. it was bad. We were about 25 miles away from home and had to put it into second, and go 25mph the whole way.
By chance, you didn't hit the OD lockout button (if equiped)
