Last night I got the alert of 500 miles before running out of DEF at 6354 miles and today I filled up, my first time in life filling DEF and double checking everything so I won't mixed up.
Added 5 gallons of blue DEF (two 2.5 gallons box) bought it in loves and pay $32.30 tax included, not bad I guess
I saw a number of locations on my trip to buy my F250 that sold it at the pump. Several places had it under $2.50 a gallon.
I was looking for some of those but I don't know what kind, I know pilot, flying J, loves have for big truck but don't know if I'm allow to get in there and how that works, just a ATM card is fine or if they have like special card because truck drivers company. I heard that it's better fill up DEF at pump because mostly of the time it's new and fresh

Just pull in like you own the place!
It'll be a couple years before I have to worry about it (I only drive about 6-8k miles a year and spread that across 3 vehicles). But I called the local Pilot that's about 5 miles up the road and they have it at the pump for $2.69.
I'd have no issue just pulling in and filling up. Would be worth the check out at the very least versus paying those crazy rates for the boxes of the stuff.
Asked this in another thread don't think any one answered but down does filling this work? Does it cut off and not allow anymore in the tank or do you have to keep checking the truck to see the digital level? Or....guess?
We use truck stops when pulling our 5er. You usually either have to go in and give ID/CC for them to turn pump on or there is a box at pump to give a tag number. DEF is the same way. DEF pumps vary at truck stops as some need to have a magnet put on the nozzle from the pump before it will allow the pump to work. Some already have it on the nozzle. It should cut off when full. Tractor Supply also has good prices on DEF.
In my area DEF at the pump is $2.59 to $2.79 a gallon. Don't get distracted and pump it into the wrong tank like I did. That mistake cost me and my insurance company $12,700 and it's been a month since it happened and I still don't have my truck back because of parts not available.

That's my fear at pump, get distracted and pump in the wrong tank, even today before add with bluedef I doble checked everything before, I read the post about mixing DEF in diesel tank, I hope never happen to me
In some states the DEF pump has a magnetic lock on it. Since our truck's DEF filler neck is plastic, the pump won't release the lock and work. I carry one of these for those situations.
