yeah I put a new seal on pickup tube. Oil rails are full, so was hpop. Did you say there shouldn't be any oil in the Hpop gear? Behind the EBPS?

The gears should be oiled if your getting LOP, but no oil like your hpop reservoir

it does seem like there is some oil on the gear, not much.

That's normal, have you tested the HPO rails with a manual gauge to see if your building pressure.

i will test that when I get it back together.
Another question: I just removed the Hpop gear, it was torqued to spec when installed. Is there a possible chance it was just spinning the gear and not the pump??
Is there a sure way to install this gear? There is no key to hold the gear in place....... lame

If it was torqued right, it should not spin.

if that was a new gear, looks like it has slipped some
What did you tighten it up to?

if IDM is bad enough for the PCM, that might be why it don't start
got a spare one?

well, I sent my pcm and idm into swamp diesel. They suggested a new idm. Pcm tested out good. Buzz test passed the second time. Wierd.
Seems I'm not getting much pressure in my Hpop. Going to go get a manual gauge..

inside HPOP reservoir is only LPOP pressure, once it leaves the pump depending on IPR voltage you get HPOP pressure
Check IPR voltage at the connector while cranking

when you remove IPC, the laptop reads default values from PCM
Time for a pressure gauge 0-4000 PSI to be connected.
Do you have a meter? checking the voltage of IPR is still needed. the screen voltage cant be trusted fully.

trying to find a tutorial on checking the ipr voltage. Is this test with key on? Or turning over? From battery ground to red wire on ipr while connected? Yes I have a multimeter
