F150 introduced in 1975. No F100 4WD's were assembled after 1976.

OP needs to be more specific, as there are different engine & A/T types, with or without P/S, with or without disc brakes for all these vehicles.

After 76 no f-100. My first dentside was a 76 f-100 4x4 short bed flareside. Black with the gold pinstripping similar to Monkey-1's dentside.

F100 2WD: 1953/83 / F100 4WD: 1959/76.

Sorry I'm still learning about these trucks. A f150 is 1/2 ton, f250 is 3/4 ton, f350 is 1 ton. Then what would a 1976 f100 4x4 be?

F100 is a half ton, F150 is a heavy duty half ton.

What would you be gaining with the f150 heavy duty half ton compared to a normal f100 half ton?

F100 4WD pickup Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 5,300-5,700 lbs.

F150 4WD pickup Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: 6,050-6,500 lbs.

The higher the rating, the more passengers/cargo the truck can carry.

So, you could take Haystacks Calhoun, Man Mountain Dean and Andre the Giant in your F150 4WD for spin around town without exceeding the max GVWR

F150's were introduced to get around emissions. A truck over a certain weight didn't need all the emissions junk on them.
