Trans prob??
I have an '02 F-150 w/ 62, 335 miles on it. For the past couple months, sometimes when i leave a stop light, I hear a grinding noise(sounds like metal sliding on metal) from right under the truck. Is this the trans slipping, or maybe the torque converter. I get no flashing od light. I havent changed the fluid yet, because I heard a rumor that if you didnt change it every 30,000 miles, never change it. Any help is appreciated

If you think the noise is coming from the transmission, go ahead and service it. Get the pan off and look for chunks of metal in the pan that would indicate some sort of failure in the transmission. Fine powdery material stuck to the magnet is normal.
