Been away from the sire for a while. But have just finished rebuilding my original engine in my 68. I promised the truck years ago when it hit 150K miles it could have some attention. ( have had the truck now 35 yrs)
I also finished last week converting it to the full Fitech , FCC and 400 horse set up.
Really have not had many problems with the EFI set up so far but read lots of bad stuff about it on line.
Anyone else put Fitech in their EBs? Any issues to report?
Update: I do not think the Fuel Command Center is a good selection for a E.B.. it gets to hot under the hood and I have had lots of vapor lock problems. Switched to a in-tank pump they sell and put it in the back tank. No return line needed. Much better and was easy to install. Use a low pressure pump to feed from the Aux. tank back to main tank that way i did not need 2 in tank pumps. The Fuel Command Center is working very well in my '69 f-250. It has much more air flow around the grill than the Bronc.
I've had my f i Tech installed for about 6 months I have the command center but haven't had any of the issues some others report. It runs so much better now.
On another install, I used the external fuel pump near the tank and used my old feed line as the return line and then ran new line for the feed. The setup seemed to work well for a single 23 gallon tank.
My new rebuilt original engine is liking the set up. But seems to like it better once warmed up. Would you be willing to share your Idle and Cranking numbers ?? I have the 400 HP set up on 302/289 heads bored 30 over. Stock type cam.
