I need to read your posts way more carefully, I was looking into the type "5". That looks really close to what I have, is it bigger and is there a cut sheet on the product. Who do you go to for your parts?
Oh trust me, I realize I am on a BIG learning curve here, but it's all part of the fun. Maybe not for the you guys who are in the know, but this is such a great site for guys like myself.
It's all good...and We're glad to have you in FTE ! The help I have received since I joined is priceless
Thanks much, it is reassuring to hear that seeing as it is my first project truck, and it's always best to start with something that is not too far gone based upon my ability. (minimal)

If that is your truck you have shown, it doesn't look at all like a "project" truck. That looks like a show truck.
More pictures please. We like pictures around here. Especially trucks that are Dark Canyon Red.
Too kind sir. More pictures to follow, only after our Midwest snow has retracted a bit. I got her wedged in the garage tight and will only drive it after the salt is off the roads. Yes, yes it is killing me not to let er out of the barn.
I see the part # EOTZ 17682-D/E but hesitate because in the year column is "80/
EOTZ-17696-D .. Dual Position TYPE 9 Swing-Lok Mirror with 6" x 9" mirror head / Right/Left is the same / Obsolete ~ 33+ available NOS
1980/91 F100/350 & Bronco.
--------------------------------- EOTZ-17696-E .. Single Position TYPE 9 Swing-Lok Mirror with 6" x 9" mirror head / Right/Left is the same / Obsolete ~ 29+ available NOS
Bill, Thank you for posting that.
Question if you have the answer, would the dual Position TYPE 9 Swing-Lok Mirror be the one that had the little are to extend the mirror out for towing trailers and the other not have that?
I also see the same mirrors are used left & right. The ones from LMC list them as 1 for right and 1 for left and 2 different part numbers but with them in hand they both look the same.

There's a bracket between the mirror head and the arm that allows the mirror head to "swing out."
Parts catalog lists the same mirror for right & left applications.

Bill, Thanks that what I thought on the arm.
Same with the aftermarket mirrors. Only went with them as I needed something and the truck will be a good looking driver not a show truck.
