What happens to old posts?

I had copied some old posts about installing a Chevy Suburban fuel tank in a F-100 a couple of years ago. I finally got to work on my truck and got some flack about cutting a hole in my chassis. So I decided I'd look back on the posts that I read and see if I had done something differently. When I tried to pull up the posts I got a "This is embarrassing but we can't find the post" message.
So what happens to the historical posts on FTE? Are only active members posts kept? I wish I'd have know they wouldn't be available when I kept the link to them. I would have printed them off.
Any discussions would be greatly appreciated.

If the OP moved the picture before (in Photobucket) to a different folder FTE can no longer find the photo by the URL posted originally. Also I'm not sure but if a member isn't on for a while I'm wondering if their account (contributions and pictures) are locked out from other members.

I think they move all the old posts to Antarctica, and then to planet X. Then maybe the aliens abduct them. Sorry, been watching too many you tubes.

old post generally rot at ground level, fall over and continue to rot on the ground unless picked up. But joking aside a lot of very good information was lost when the site decided to do away with everyone's galleries. Pictures disappeared also from posts that used to be in those galleries because the site did away with them plus if the owner of the gallery deleted them from their gallery then you were taken to planet X

If you can post the old link maybe Fomoko1 can look into what happened to it?

Here's a 73 Chevy Blazer tank which is the same as the suburban tank that I used on my panel. Although the panel was built on a Chev C10 frame the width of the frame is the same as the Ford's. The Chev's frame is heavier that the original Ford frame the rails are a little deeper..

Thanks Roy! Exactly what I was looking for. I guess I did mine a little different.

Chevy Fuel tank filler <br/>4" pipe welded into the frame.

I was going to box the frame where I cut through it but was warned I severely weaken the frame and boxing wouldn't make up for the damage. I'm not an engineer so I am at a loss as to what to do.

here is a pic of my frame I copied dave he has good pic also you can see the white line i only trim the lower rail on the left rail you can just make out the blue marks for filler notch

I trimed the edges straight after adding a rear xmember(from a f250 donor) note the old rear xmember at the spring perch I left a stump to weld a plug weld when I boxed after boxing I put the old xmember at the front of the tank so I have a square around the tank all 1/8"+

Fuel tank is from a Chevy van FI
notch at frame rail to the rear of the spring
