Explorer transmission swap
I've got an 07 explorer that has the dreaded servo issue. Trans shifts sloppy. A buddy of mine is paring out his 04 aviator. My truck is 4x4 and his is
full time awd. Are these two trans interchangeable, minus the transfer case?
His trans was shifting flawless when the motor blew. I offered him $100 if it would fit. Will this work for me?

Assuming your '07 Explorer is equipped with the 4.0L SOHC engine as you've mentioned in your signature, no it won't fit. The 4.6L DOHC 32V engine uses a completely different bellhousing bolt pattern from your 4.0L SOHC.

Do they both have the same motor? 4.6?
A generic search shows different models at an aftermarket trans company.
I would put this in the no or serious gamble slot.
Servo issues can be fixed. I would search out someone who knows these transmissions and get the original fixed.
